Plan B: prejudice puts young jobless off finding work
Written by admin on 12th February 2014
Prejudice is preventing young people not in education, employment or training from seeking work, Plan B claims.
The singer, who attended Tunmarsh Pupil Referral Unit in Newham after his expulsion from school, said young people like him were probably viewed by authorities as “no better than an animal. These kids feel it…. They don’t turn up to work because there’s people in there looking down and talking down to them.”
The government say they have reforms in place to ensure young people leave schools with the right skills and plan to spend £7.4bn in the coming year to fund education and training for 16-17 year olds who want it.
