James Arthur says he’s no longer with record label Syco

Written by on 14th June 2014

James Arthur has said on Twitter that he is no longer with Simon Cowell’s record label.

He said he wanted to thank the staff there for helping make his self-titled debut album, which came out in November last year.

In April the 26-year-old denied rumours that he had been dropped by Syco.

The singer, whose album reached number two in the Official Album Chart, won The X Factor in 2012

It’s been a difficult few months for the singer who’s been involved in a number of public Twitter rows including one with comedian Frankie Boyle after claims he had used homophobic lyrics in a rap.

He called other male winners of The X Factor “puppets” and criticised his own promotions team.

In his latest Twitter post he said: “Just to clear things up – I am no longer with Syco. I would like to thank all at the label for making a great record with me.

“I now have to move on to do something different – The future is bright” #LOVE”

Syco also represents artists like One Direction, Labrinth and Little Mix and they haven’t commented yet.
